"Having removed the damaged original earth coloured tessellated floor, the owner of this late Victorian/Edwardian style home in Sydney's east, was keen to update its appearance by installing new verandah tiles that complemented the colour scheme of the facade. Inspired by the pattern on a friend's verandah, she chose the Stanmore pattern, pairing it with a custom border. The elegant simplicity of this pattern, a timeless classic executed in monochromatic black & white, adds visual impact without overwhelming the general aesthetic of the property's decorative detailing, and perfectly captures the client's vision. It is the 'yin' to the facades 'yang' - creating balance and harmony through contrast.
